Outdoor reared - Our outdoor reared breeding herd is a free range herd. The mothers live in grassey paddocks overlooking the sea, on the coast in Devon. They stay in small family groups grazing grass and rooting up the Devon red soil. Their offspring are born in large huts bedded deeply with straw. So the sows can use all their natural nesting instincts. They are then reared in their family groups until they are weaned from their mothers then they stay in larger groups of the same age pigs until they go inside for the last few weeeks. Our pigs are reared slowly and naturally to achieve the best possble flavour.
