I use these to make a stew as there is a fair bit of meat on them. I cook them in the slow cooker, with whatever veggies I have to hand, as well as pearly barley, split peas and lentils etc. I leave it in there for a day or two keeping hot, them the meat just slips off the bones and I can fish them out, leaving a lovely tasty lamb stew.

Makes a wonderful tasty light gravy and stock base for a soup. Have used as a trivet in the slow cooker to pot roast a lamb joint so very easy to extract the full flavour. Thoroughly recommended.
